Board game sessions take place every week in Ardkeen Library
The death sadly occurred on Tuesday, July 23, of Mrs Mary Cunningham (née: Fraher), John’s Hill, Waterford formerly of Gracedieu Road.
Retired nurse of the Infirmary Hospital and University Hospital, Waterford, she was predeceased by her loving husband Bryan, parents Esther and Edward (Fraher) and her brother Kevin. She is survived by her loving children Danny, Trish, David, Ismay and Stafford, grandchildren Ross, Sarah, Loui, Sally, Emma, Bryan and Tara, sister Pat, daughter-in-law Elaine, sons-in-law Cormac and Philip, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Mary will be sadly missed by all her relatives, extended family, neighbours and friends. Requiem Mass took place on Thursday, July 25, in the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, Barronstrand Street, Waterford, at 12 noon followed by private cremation the following day. Condolences are extended to Mary's family, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.
If you are living on the Williamstown or Dunmore Road area of Waterford we have a mixed gender art group for those aged 16 to 18 years running every Monday from 7pm. If you are interested please don't hesitate to contact Nina on 086 7816269.
The Farronshoneen Project Centre games room is available to book every Monday in August with one hour slots available for up to six young people. Activities can include pool, air hockey, playstation games etc. If any of our young people are interested in booking in throughout the summer please contact Catriona on 083 0106257.
Waterford Libraries are delighted to again bring a series of free Writing Workshops to the people of Waterford in 2024. The programme will run from August to December and will give participants an opportunity to attend courses in both Irish and English. The courses are free of charge open to people over 18 years resident in Waterford city or county. Application forms are available at library desks and the closing date for applications for all workshops is Friday, August 2.
Board Game Saturdays take place at Central Library, Waterford. Drop in for some family time playing board games every Saturday morning, from 10am to 12pm. All welcome and under 12s must be accompanied by an adult.
In St. Joseph & Benildus Church we are currently planning activities for the autumn in the Parish and would love to receive your ideas. There is a suggestion box at the back of both Benildus and Ballygunner Churches. Please let us know what courses, classes, events you would like to see happening.
A coffee morning takes place every Wednesday morning in the Benildus Parish Centre, immediately after the 10.30am Mass at St. Joseph & Benildus Church. Everyone is welcome to attend and no booking required.
The Youth 2000 Summer Festival takes place from August 15 to 18, at Clongowes Wood College, Co Kildare, for those aged 16 to 35, donation only. Faith, fun, fellowship. For more info including bus routes go to www.youth2000.ie and all are welcome.
Saturday Board Game sessions take place at Ardkeen Library, Waterford every week. Activities include chess, scrabble, Connect Four and many more. The sessions began in July and will continue until August 31 and take place from 10.30am to 12.30pm. All are welcome to attend the free sessions. Just drop in.
