Murder case sent forward to trial
The Judge order an alibi warning.
The book of evidence has been served in the case of a man charged with the murder of a woman in Waterford.
Tomas Marvanek was charged with the murder of Yveta Donovalova on April 27.
The mother of three was found at her home in Grange Heights with serious injuries.
Marvanek was charged shortly after Ms Donovalova was pronounced dead at UHW.
The case has been sent forward to stand trial during the next sessions of the Central Criminal Court.
On Tuesday, August 4, Marvanek appeared at Waterford District Court before Judge Mark O'Connell.
Marvanek appeared in Court wearing a grey shirt and tracksuit bottoms with a white crucifix hanging around his neck. He was aided by a Czech interpreter.
Solicitor Ken Cunningham informed the Court that Marvanek is facing a separate charge of assault contrary to Section 3 of the Non-Fatal Offence Against the Person Act.
Judge O'Connell issued an alibi warning to the defence counsel.
Mr Cunningham requested free legal aid to attain the services of both a senior and junior counsel for Marvanek. Judge O'Connell accepted the request.
