Linda Fredriksson will be performing live in June.

Linda Fredriksson Live, June 12, Garter Lane Arts Centre, €20 (Concessions €18)

Fredriksson has already garnered wide-spread recognition as a flamboyant improviser and versatile musician. Considered one of Europe’s leading jazz saxophonists, they have blazed their own musical trail, daring to step outside of the genre in a way that is uniquely personal.

Following the release of their debut album Juniper in 2021, Finnish saxophonist Linda Fredriksson quickly established themselves as an important creative force on the national and international jazz scene. Winner of a Teosto Award in 2022, one of Scandinavia’s most prestigious awards recognising musical work that is considered bold, original and innovative, Juniper also received the Emma Award for Best Jazz Album of the Year in 2022.

Waterford International Organ Festival, June 13 – 16, Christ Church Cathedral

Waterford International Organ Festival (WIOF) returns for 2024 and includes special concerts inspired by Hamburg and Parisian composers. As we celebrate the significant anniversaries of Gabriel Fauré, Théodore Dubois and Matthias Weckmann, WIOF brings world famous organists to Waterford to perform programmes from the golden eras of organ composition.

With a Bach Cantata, a Handel Organ Concerto, arias and choral masterpieces and an “Underwater Creatures” musical adventure for children, WIOF has a packed programme.

WIOF will welcome virtuosi Prof Matthias Havinga (Amsterdam) and Eric Lebrun (Paris), as well as many distinguished artists from around Ireland for their events to be held at Christ Church Cathedral.

Taste The Pain Live, July 14, The Haven Hotel, €10 to €15

Celebrating the music of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, spanning 13  studio albums across 40 years, Taste The Pain are an exciting and energetic tribute to the titans of LA Funk Rock.

Formed by a number of session musicians and dedicated Chillies fans in Cork in 2014, Taste The Pain say they "are constantly refining and perfecting their set with passion, and attention to detail, foregoing the studio recordings, and instead taking the Chillies’ legendary live performances and jams as their inspiration".
