August Craft Month returns to Waterford with exciting craft experiences all month

August Craft Month is returning to Waterford this year with its biggest programme yet, celebrating Ireland's thriving craft community with over 600 events across all 32 counties.

Makers from Waterford are taking part in events all month as part of the nationwide programme; with everything from hands-on workshops, demonstrations and exhibitions to open studios and markets.

Crafters in Waterford have a variety of events and activities planned throughout the month, including the 'Make Your Piece' pottery class led by artist and second-generation potter, Sarah Lincoln.

Over a two-hour class at Sarah's family run workshop, participants will be guided through hand-building techniques and given the opportunity to create and glaze their own hand-built pot.

Ceramic Artist Eileen Singleton will have an open studio day on Saturday, August 22 at her studio, where participants can go and meet the artist and learn about the methods she uses, see work in the environment in which it's created and connect directly with the maker.

Another exciting event August Craft Month will bring to Waterford this month is the Fire & Feast experience. 

This intimate gathering is a celebration of two of Waterford's renowned artisan forces, Taste Waterford and Ardmore Pottery & Gallery. 

This is an evening worth attending, with a pottery piece to take home once fired, and an exclusive culinary journey from Luis Martin of Mara Restaurant, all with a stunning backdrop of Ardmore Bay.
