The wonder of nature as stunning images capture the solar eclipse

People all around the country gathered together to witness the natural solar eclipse that only occurs a couple of times in most people's lifetimes; the next one is due to take place in 2081.
The last one occurred over mainland Europe in 1999.
This evening's partial eclipse occurred earlier this evening, Wednesday, August 12, and the stunning images here were captured by Waterford News & Star photographer, Joe Evans.
The eclipse began shortly after 6pm and lasted for around two hours.
Ireland will see up to 98 per cent coverage in the west and south, with most of the country experiencing over 90 per cent coverage.
