Caught on camera! Flytipper found dumping rubbish outside Waterford GAA grounds
The Portlaw GAA contacted the council who put up a camera and the culprit was caught
A repeat offender dumping rubbish outside of the Portlaw GAA grounds has been caught.
Councillor Declan Clune told elected members and officials at the September sitting of Comeragh District Council that it was all down to council cameras.
“The GAA club contacted the environment section themselves, and environment put up a camera. Within a couple of days we actually caught the person doing the repeated illegal dumping.
“So it just demonstrated the proactive nature of the council and the environment department and how effective these cameras are. So, a good news story,” said Cllr Clune.
Senior Executive Officer Dawn Wallace said she was glad it had worked.
