The ongoing issues of rubbish dumping in rural Waterford was raised at a recent meeting of Waterford Council. Cllr Liam Brazil said during the meeting that dumping in the region is "getting out of hand".

The matter was raised at a recent meeting in Dungarvan

 “This is a very serious issue in the times we live in with global warming, and this will only add to the problem.”

"This is the main thoroughfare into the City so its the first place you see as you enter the city and to see all the rubbish and mattresses and things left for other people to pick up is not acceptable

A woman was convicted and fined a total of €1,185 at Waterford District Court on Monday, September 9. The woman was was initially issued a litter fine of €150 on foot of a cigarette butt discarded by the driver of her car.
