Dumping on Manor Street in Waterford 'not acceptable' says Councillor

Manor Street, Waterford City
Residents on Manor Street are growing frustrated by the ongoing issue of dumping, says a Waterford City Councillor.
Frank Quinlan (Fine Gael) said: "This is an ongoing issue, the last 3,4 years with household waste being dumped Manor Street.
"It appears every morning 2,3 days every week, more so after the weekends."
"There's residents living there 30, 40 years and they're absolutely sick and tired of seeing bags and bags of rubbish being left on the corner."
The dumping has put pressure on Waterford City and County Council's cleansing crew, according to Cllr Quinlan.

He said: "The Council are busy enough at the best of times and they have to along and pick up after these people who are dumping their rubbish there.
"I'm after highlighting the issue on numerous occasions, I've contacted the environmental engineers in the City Council.
"This is the main thoroughfare into the City so its the first place you see as you enter the city and to see all the rubbish and mattresses and things left for other people to pick up is not acceptable and it needs to be stopped."
Cllr Quinlan has recommended the use of rubbish wardens to monitor the area.
