€400 fine and ban for driving in Waterford with no insurance

A 24-year-old man was fined €400 for driving while uninsured.
Michael Ashade appeared at Waterford District Court before Judge Catriona Murray. The court heard that on January 21 earlier this year, Ashade was detected driving with no insurance at Kingsmeadow.
Ashade, of Killure Manor, Waterford City, had three previous convictions, including a charge for no insurance dated from 2022.
Judge Murray fined Ashade €400 and enacted the automatic disqualification for a maximum period of two years. Counsel for Ashade requested that the ban be adjourned until April 2027 to accommodate his ability to commute to work, which was accepted.
