Mick Flannery 'has a voice for the ages, a complete Master of his craft', cited by Clash Magazine, whilst The Sunday Times said he 'conjures up exquisite storytelling'. His latest offering, ‘Goodtime Charlie’, Flannery’s eighth studio record went straight to Number One at home in Ireland, on the independent charts, and Number Two on the Official Charts, making it his sixth top five record to date, with three Number One records already under his belt. ‘ His live shows are renowned for his self-deprecating humour and audience engagement.
Musician and broadcaster Tom Robinson presents an evening of songs and stories spanning five decades of adventures in the music industry.
He first became known in the 1970s as a musician, LGBT activist and recording artist. He is still musically active and also hosts two shows a week on BBC Radio 6 Music. Tom’s musical journey began in 1974 when his first band was discovered by Ray Davies, and included a BBC ban for being Glad To be Gay, rocking against racism alongside The Clash, headlining Glastonbury with Peter Gabriel and writing lyrics for Elton John.
Having made his peace with the BBC, he’s presented programmes on all the corporation’s national radio networks and his broadcasting work has won two Sony Radio Academy awards. Audiences can expect intimate versions of classics such as War Baby, Glad To Be Gay and 2-4-6-8 Motorway alongside stories from behind the scenes and a sprinkling of fan favourites from his extensive back catalogue.
Fieldsy is a soulful singer-songwriter conquering the folk landscape in both Australia and Ireland. With heavy celtic influences in her music and a strong connection to her Aussie plains, she has travelled from Perth to Dublin sharing her words and melodies.
She has provided her voice nationally to support The Beautiful Girls, Daniel Champagne, Shaun Kirk and Hermitage Green, whilst also playing headline shows and festivals in Ireland and across Europe. She was also a semi-finalist in the 2018 International Songwriting Competition for her track ‘Neverland’.
A renowned artist with a proven record of performance, recording and innovation, Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh is a multi-award winning traditional singer and musician from Corca Dhuibhne, West Kerry. Muireann is a leading exponent of the sean nós style, and has enjoyed a successful career as a touring artist, with over thirteen years experience as lead singer and flute player with the Irish traditional supergroup Danú, as well as a many years performing as a solo artist.
