Waterford Classic Car & Motorcycle Show returns for fifth anniversary

The Classic Car & Motorcycle Show returns to Waterford for its fifth year.

Over 150 classic cars, bikes and vans are expected at this years Classic Car and Motorcycle Show hosted by WWETB.

In previous shows, some of the highlights have been a pair of Borgwards, a 1932 Ford hot rod, a couple of American Pickups, a 1908 Reo, a 1926 Essex, a 1951 Indian Chief Motorcycle plus a host of Beetles, Anglia's, Escorts, BMWs and Toyotas and more.

Shay Cummins, Assistant Manager at the Waterford Training Centre said: “We are delighted to announce the fifth classic car and motorbike show anniversary. What started as an idea to invite people to see the work that we do in delivering Ireland’s only professional Classic Car Restoration Course has evolved into a hugely popular Motor show each year.

"This year at the show there will be two prizes, these will be presented to the Best Classic Car and the Best Classic Motorcycle judged by the participants in the show.”

The show will be hosted by the course leaders at the Classic Car Restoration Course at the WWETB Waterford Training Centre and visitors on the day will get to view the techniques and even try out virtual reality areas of the workshop.

To date, over 300 people have taken part and gained qualifications in the course and the event will demonstrate the professional skills these course participants received and offer an opportunity for the public to gain a little insight into the course content at the WWETB Waterford Training Centre.

The Classic Car Restoration Course Instructor, Pat Bolger has over 40 years of experience in the motor trade and in restoring classic cars. Commenting on the upcoming event Pat said: “Each year this show gets bigger and better, it’s one not to be missed for any motoring enthusiast."

"The motors on display will certainly be enjoyed but it’s also a rare opportunity to get inside our car restoration workshop and check out the different workstations and processes behind this intricate work," he said.

For parents and guardians who will have children with them on the day, there will be a professional face painter on site.

The event will take place on July 6, at the Waterford Training Centre located in the Waterford Industrial Estate from 10am to 1pm.

It will be free of charge to enter.
