Music feast for festival's 10th anniversary in County Waterford

Moylan Brannock will be one of the performers at the Comeraghs Wild Festival
This year's 10th anniversary celebration of the Comeraghs Wild Festival in County Waterford will see it continuing its tradition of supporting ad showcasing the very best local, national and international musical talent.
An intrinsic part of the annual event, the music line-up this year will see a wide range of acts perform across the two weekends of the festival.
Country Gold is a band specially put together for the event and the renowned act, which includes Gerry Walsh, will open for Ceol and The High Kings on Saturday, July 6, at Curraghmore Estate.
Moylan Brunnock is also back this year by popular demand. She is the opening act for what promises to be a truly remarkable concert in Clonea Power Church, on Friday, July 12, when she will take to the stage before Lisa Hannigan, Gemma Hayes and Paul Noonan. Tickets for the gig are almost sold out such is the level of anticipation ahead of it. For your comfort, it is advised to bring your own cushion for this event.
Ballymacarbry is definitely the place to be when Fenton's Rebel, Roots and Bluegrass Bash takes place at Fenton's Field, Ballymacarbry, from 4pm the following day. An open-air, riverside event, it will feature Mad Mike and local bands Cedartowns, Rising Tide and Jack Colbert. It will be a new addition to the Comeraghs Wild programme and those attending are invited to bring along a fold up chair or blanket and make a day of it. There will also be live music, singing, dancing, storytelling and more at the Go Wild at The Getaway event, at the Getaway Eco Camp in Dungarvan, from 3pm on Saturday, July 13. Revellers will gather for an open session in this stunning venue where local performers share the stage with anyone who wishes to join in.
The music and fun will continue that evening in Rathgormack for 'Dance neath the Comeraghs', at the Hiking Centre, starting from 7.30pm. It will feature local musicians and set dancing will be in the open air. The Coach House in Kilmacthomas will be the place to be at 3pm on the Sunday afternoon for a free performance from the Comeraghs to the Coast choir.
Moylan Brunnock will also be back for a second event on Sunday afternoon to provide musical accompaniment for the 'Feast in the Forest', in Crough Wood under a specially-constructed marquee.
Speaking ahead of their concert at Curraghmore, renowned local man and showband singer, Gerry Walsh from Country Gold said: “We’re looking forward to a great evening in Curraghmore. We’ve put together a six-piece band and will be starting out on a Charlie Pride Tribute circuit after the Comeraghs Wild concert."
"We’ll be doing a mix for all ages for the hour we’re on at Curraghmore," said Gerry.
"We’ve steel guitar, fiddle, banjo, a drummer and guitarist, so have a great mix. We’re rehearsing away and I’m looking forward to a great evening on stage with Stephen Travers, Tony Ford, Ger Cornally, John O’Keeffe and Mo Connors.”
