WATCH: Waterford environmental artist sends message to Donald Trump on a sandy beach in Ireland

The Art Hand created the 'Free Palestine' message on the shorefront at one of President Donald Trump's golf resorts, in Ireland.
A renowned Waterford environmental artist has expressed his contempt for Israel's actions in Gaza and with America's ongoing support of Israel, in the clearest way possible.
Sean Corcoran (aka: The Art Hand), wrote a temporary sand art message, 'Free Palestine', on Doughmore Strand, in front of President Trump's Golf Course in the West of Ireland, with assistance from James Corcoran Hodgins and Caoláin Power.
The art message measured 350 foot wide (106 metres) and the letters were 40 foot tall (12 metres).
The artist also recorded a time-lapse video of the installation with accompanying music, 'Go Down', by Moby Gratis.

Commenting on why he did it, the artist said he couldn't sit by and watch the atrocities being committed on the Palestinian people every day without doing something.
"I couldn’t just stand by while these atrocities are being carried out," he told Waterford News & Star and waterford-news.ie
"Like so many of us I’ve felt helpless for the last few months," he added.
"I’d like to be on the right side of history. I don’t want to look back in 10 years and feel like I did nothing."
However, Mr Corcoran then questioned what could he - and everyone else - do to help the situation.
"But what can I do? What difference can I make? Well I guess we can all make a difference, whether it’s boycotting Israeli goods, supporting NGO’s on the ground or attending a peaceful protest," he said.
"Speak up. Talk to your politicians; we need to be more informed and more vocal," he added.

With regard to the ongoing situation the Palestinian people find themselves in, Mr Corcoran said: "Innocent people are currently being starved to death, as an Israeli siege on Gaza continues. Israel has slaughtered over 50,000 people in recent months including over 15,000 children."
"More than 1.5 million Palestinians have been forcibly displaced from their homes," he said.
"They have been herded like animals onto a small strip of barren land with no facilities. Israel is refusing to allow water, food, medicine or other vital supplies into the affected areas," he added, before commenting that desperate and starving people are dying as they try to access the tiny trickle of water and food that is getting through.
Describing what's happening as "evil" and "genocide" he said there was no excuse for it.
"Absolutely nothing can justify what Israel is doing. The relentless slaughter of innocent men, women and children must stop," he added.
Mr Corcoran said Israel’s actions are being made possible by the USA and other countries who continue to supply them with military equipment.
"The USA is the largest supplier of military equipment to Israel, accounting for about 69 per cent of their major conventional arms," he said.

He also highlighted the fact an arrest warrant has been issued for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, by the International Criminal Court, for alleged crimes against humanity and war crimes.
"I have a lot of good friends in the States and regularly visit on projects," said Mr Corcoran.
"If the Trump administration decided that my opinions and actions on the sand are anti-Semitic, it’s possible that I would be detained or deported if I try to return," he added.
"Seems more like a dictatorship than a democracy if you ask me. Freedom of speech is being eroded and censorship is becoming rampant. People in the States are being locked up for expressing their opinions."
The artist said he chose the Trump International Golf Links in Doonbeg, County Clare, as a poignant location for the installation.
"I thought I would use the privilege I am afforded in this democracy, to voice my opinion right next to Donald Trump’s lavish golf course in Ireland," he said.
"I believe a turning point has been reached and politicians will need to start responding to growing public outrage," he added.
"The USA and other countries need to stop supporting Israel. We all need to insist on a ceasefire. Do the right thing Donald Trump."
