Your Fitness: What’s holding you back from reaching your goals?

Your goal setting should be to try and fit these tasks around your life, not trying to fit your life around these tasks.
This is a common struggle I see in those who come seeking my help when looking to better themselves and start taking control of their lives. They feel they are being held back from reaching their goals. Limiting beliefs and, in many cases, a lack of understanding of how important the basic tasks within our day truly are have an impact here.
If this sounds like you, maybe start to ask yourself the following questions.
Are you doing too much early on, which is resulting in doing too little later down the line as you find yourself burnt out or struggling to maintain the habits you have set?
Are you struggling to find a routine that meets you where you are at?
In many cases - this will be a big factor in why many will struggle to reach their end goal and sustain their result.
Unfortunately, this will be a struggle many will face as they try to find their way in an unforgiving industry full of information but little guidance on how to apply it based on an individual's needs and their context.
The best piece of advice I can give someone to get the ball rolling? Look at what you already do within your life.
What subtle changes to some of these tasks can you make that will make each thing you do a little more goal-oriented.
For example, every morning you might have porridge and some honey. What about adding some protein powder to your porridge? A simple step, yes. But more significant than one might think… You’ve now increased your daily protein intake by around 20-40 grams.
This done moving forward is going to compound over time and help you form more habits and find little tweaks to your lifestyle that will contribute to your health and fitness moving forward.
Your goal setting now should be to try and fit these tasks around your life, not trying to fit your life around these tasks.
Make small sustainable changes and let these compound over time to lead to more meaningful results!
