Women's global conference to take place in Waterford
The 7th Waterford Global Women's Conference will take place in the Theatre Royal on March 10.
International Women's Day will be celebrated in Waterford with the county's seventh Global Women's Conference.
The event, which is being organised in conjunction with Europe Direct Waterford, Waterford Integration Services and Waterford Libraries, will take place on Tuesday, March 10, in the Theatre Royal.
Beginning at 10am, the theme of International Women's Day this year will be 'Give to Gain' which is aimed at emphasising the power of support, whether through knowledge, resources, infrastructure, visibility, advocacy, education, training, mentoring, or time.
A spokesperson for Waterford Libraries said: "Contributing to women's advancement helps create a more supportive and interconnected world."
"Imagine a gender equal world; a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination," she said.
"A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive; a world where difference is valued and celebrated," she added.
"Together we can forge women's equality."
International Women's Day is also being promoted online through #IWD2026 and #GiveToGain.
The event in Waterford will feature guest speakers and music.
"Learn how we all can 'give to gain' to create a more fair and equal world," said the Waterford Libraries spokesperson.
The event will be free of charge, however, booking is essential as places are limited.
