Your Fitness: A one-stop tool for your fitness!
The benefits of moving more, eating a little bit better and doing activities that challenge you to improve your strength, power and balance are what is going to result in a more fulfilling and empowering sense of health and wellbeing as you get older.
Over the past years I have had the pleasure of working with a wide variety of individuals with a wide variety of needs and unique circumstances to work around and manage in the background.
The goal of getting qualified as a physiotherapist for me was to better position myself to help a wider array of individuals to not only come back from pain and injury, but to work towards some more meaningful health and fitness goals.
This has led me towards putting a small e-book together, which allows me to go into a little more detail on the tools I use to better help the people who come to me to improve their fitness. If you’re reading this - it might be for people just like you!
This book communicates the same message that I will again reiterate today - you can’t go wrong, getting strong!
In the majority of cases, small consistent efforts towards doing some exercise, increasing your activity and improving your nutrition are going to positively impact your health and well-being.
If the benefits of exercise came in a pill, it would likely be the most widely prescribed pill in the world!
The benefits of moving more, eating a little bit better and doing activities that challenge you to improve your strength, power and balance are what is going to result in a more fulfilling and empowering sense of health and wellbeing as you get older. It’s activities like these that help us to keep doing what we love - for longer!
The Irish activity guidelines are clear when they state both adults and over 65’s should be undertaking at least 2.5-5 hours of moderate intensity cardio per week alongside at least two strength-focused sessions a week. Over 65’s are also recommended to place some special focus towards activities that improve your balance and coordination in an effort to reduce the risk of falls, which become a much higher risk as we age.
If you are reading this and are unsure of where to start your fitness journey, then this book might just be for you. It is completely free and is available for free download on my website.
If you find yourself in a place where you don't know where to turn, turn to this e-book as a starting point for getting to grips with the basics when it comes to your training, nutrition and the management of any pain or injury you may have while trying to exercise.
