Tidy Towns

Stradbally Tidy Towns Committee would like to say a big thank you to our Stradbally XL Stores proprietor Robert Gough and his staff for his support of our situation during a recent burglary. Robert placed a donation bucket in his shop and has now handed over the wonderful contents of that bucket €330 to our committee to help with replacing equipment. Our sincere thanks to Robert and to all who donated to the bucket for our benefit. We appreciate your support and generosity.

Community Climate Action

Stradbally Tidy Towns Committee is delighted to be included as one of the 17 groups announced last week to receive Climate Action Grant Funding. We had entered specific projects towards Climate Action earlier this year. How it works is, we raise the money to complete each specific project, then when complete, we can apply to the overseer of the scheme for reimbursement up to the value of €5,334. We do not get this money until we actually have the amount spent.

Bally News

Stradbally Market

There was a lovely open air market on the Square on Saturday morning where everyone enjoyed the sunshine.

The stalls were filled with new potatoes, carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, strawberries, oven-fresh bread, scones tarts, Eabha's fancy buns and millionaire shortbread was back. Some visitors mingled with the local shoppers, admiring the local cards and prints, while others enjoyed tea and scones at the Cove Bar. Brigid was trying to keep her jams and relish in the shade from the warm sun. You can preorder any product for sale by calling Margaret on 087 6337215 just drop by and pick up. They will be back to do it all again next Saturday.
