Ferrybank
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bridget (Breda) Peel (née: Frawley) of The Sycamores, Dunmore Road, Waterford, and formerly of The Orchard, Ferrybank. Breda passed away peacefully on December 7, in the compassionate care of Tramore Nursing Home. A beloved member of the community, Breda was a cherished figure at Ardkeen Hospital and Waterford Golf Club. Predeceased by her husband David, sisters Clare Frawley and Philomena Campbell, and her brother Denis Frawley, Breda leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. She will be deeply missed by her children Malcolm, Stephanie, Vincent, and Clodagh, her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and a wide circle of friends and neighbours. The ongoing delay in opening the Ferrybank facility is becoming quite absurd, with little consideration being shown for the residents of Ferrybank and its neighbouring areas. What exactly are they waiting for? Ferrybank is undergoing significant transformation with developments like the new railway station, sustainable bridge, upgraded road network in the North Quays, the ring road connecting Abbey Park to Belmont and the Greenway extension to New Ross. Meanwhile, the two major eyesores—the derelict Shopping Centre and the Ard Rí Hotel site - remain issues under the control of others to resolve. The local Kilkenny Councillors must be really frustrated by the lack of engagement and the hotel site looks like it won’t be dealt with either leaving the development, which borders both Waterford and Kilkenny boundary, up in the air.
The Ferrybank Women's Shed Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on December 18, from 11am to 1pm at Ferrybank AFC. This is a great opportunity to share your ideas, have your say, and help shape the future of the shed. All members, as well as new attendees, are warmly invited to join and be part of building something wonderful together.
