The route will mainly use shared surfaces along local roads, with some off-road sections within the village. Key elements of the project include introduction of reduced speed limits, with a proposal for 30kph on shared roads, subject to a separate statutory process; speed ramps, signage, road markings, and energy-efficient public lighting along the entire route; an all-stop junction control at the L7477/L7478 junction and local road widening for improved visibility.; off-road pathways connecting Kilmurry Lane to the Greenway and Hartley Cross, with signalized pedestrian/cyclist crossings at Hartley’s Cross and St. Mary’s Parish Hall and the widening of existing footpaths on the L3411 to create a shared pedestrian/cycle pathway, and further speed reductions on L3411 near Slieverue Linear Park.
