Wellness events will feature prominently during the forthcoming Comeraghs Wild Festival, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.

Yoga teacher and wellness advocate, Virginia Giani, will be back by popular demand and will be hosting an open-air, 'Bend & Blend Zen' in the Park session at Kilmacthomas Viaduct on Saturday, July 13, starting at 10am.

It’s one of a number of mindfulness and holistic events on this year’s action-packed programme which celebrates the festival’s 10th Birthday and runs across the first two weekends in July.

Virginia, known locally as Yoga with Ginni, promises a morning to remember and to calm the mind and body.

Participants will meet at Signal Box Coffee on the Viaduct to pre-order a speciality coffee of choice before taking a short walk to the park where they will enjoy a relaxing and invigorating Yoga Practice.

“After Yoga, we will float back up to Signal Box on a sea of calm and zen for a delectable and healthy smoothie bowl, freshly brewed coffee or tea and of course, wholesome chats," said a spokesperson for the festival.

"This event is suitable for all levels and all you need is your own mat," she added. However, advanced booking is required online via www.yogawithginni.com and the fee is €22 per person.

This year’s Comeraghs Wild Festival programme also includes separate, unrelated events including a foraging and mindfulness walk in Crough Wood on Friday, July 12, at 2pm.

Participants are invited to be "in the moment" and uncover the many edible and medicinal wild plants, flowers and mushrooms that are abundant in the enchanting wood. Booking for that event is via themysticholistic@gmail.com and the cost is €10 per person.

This year’s festival also includes a Craft & Mindfulness event for children, starting at 10am on Saturday, July 13. It will involve creating wild art and crafts using materials from nature.

The fee is €5 per child and advance booking is required on themysticholistic@gmail.com

The festival will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in style across the first two weekends in July, starting with an open air concert at Curraghmore House & Gardens on July 6 and concluding the following weekend with sumptuous 'Feast in the Forest', featuring the very best in locally-sourced, fresh produce.

The opening event, in the magical Curraghmore House & Gardens, the ancestral home of Lord Waterford, promises to be a great way to get things started. The open-air concert will take place in the stunning courtyard and will include The High Kings, Ceol and more. Early bird tickets are selling out fast on www.comeraghswild.com
