Unique dance event set for Waterford City

Traces Dance Ensemble is thrilled to announce details of an exciting dance event, along with a unique photographic and audio exhibition taking place in Waterford City.
The event, 'Féach', will feature 12 dance artists with additional needs and is the finale of an 18-month long project named, 'Glór', by Traces Dance Ensemble, which took place, with the support of Creative Ireland, from 2023 until this year.
A spokesperson for the ensemble said: "Everyone is welcome to join us on the Féach Dance Trail, on Sunday, April 27, starting at 12noon at the Port of Waterford building in O'Connell Street."
"The dancers will lead the audience in and around key areas of Waterford's Cultural Quarter, city centre and into the Viking Triangle," she said.
"In the event of bad weather, all of the dances will take place under cover at the Apple Market," she added.
'Féach', is a unique photographic and audio exhibition and will be open to the public from Thursday, April 24 until Tuesday, April 29, on the ground floor of Central Library in Lady Lane.
The exhibition will feature wonderful portrait photographs by Davi Matheson and entry to the display will be free of charge.
The exhibition will also be available to view online at www.tracesdanceensemble.com however, people are encouraged to go along and view them in person.
"Traces Dance Ensemble are promoting the individual voice of the dance artist within their new work through innovative reflection and feedback mechanisms in video and visual [and] audio languaging techniques," said the spokesperson.
Traces Dance Ensemble provides training and workshops in contemporary dance practice to young people and adults with additional needs.
In another first for the ensemble, they are currently 'in-residence' for the month of April in A Little Room.
The company is currently facilitated by a Creative Team of professional dance artists: Dee Grant, Trish Murphy, Rachel Ni Bhraonain and Susie Lamb.
