Weather won't stop Santa reaching Déise

Weather won't stop Santa reaching Déise

Dasher embraces his silly side as the flight team prepare for their trip around the globe!

Relief across Waterford as Santa gets the "all clear" to visit the Déise after a worrying storm in the North Atlantic was less severe than expected.

“It might be a bumpy ride for Santa,” said Dasher, the lead weather forecaster at the North Pole, “but he’s well used to these trips and Mrs. Claus has wrapped him up warm in his cosiest coat!”

“It’s not his first trip around the block!”

Speaking exclusively to Waterford News & Star, the four-legged meteorologist said weather conditions on the rest of the route “won’t present a challenge for the team."

"This group could do it on a cold, wet Tuesday night in any part of the country.”

Santa is expected to arrive in Dublin at 2am after delivering to the United Kingdom, and will make his way to Waterford soon after as he makes his way around the country.

The winds were loud as Dasher spoke to this publication; the team were preparing to head off on another trip around the world and were working with the Runway Elves who coordinate refuelling the reindeer with carrots and milk, alongside their favourite sweets – mainly mince pies!

“Minor repairs are needed every time they land,” said one such Elf, Meg Annic, “the other Runway Elves will be running around to fix the landing gear – it’s a special technology to limit the sound of the deer on the rooftops so we don’t wake up any of the kids!”

“They need to keep their energy to play with all the toys on Christmas morning!”
