Waterford News & Star journalist Shannon Sweeney has been nominated in the forthcoming Irish Law Society's, Justice Media Awards, which recognise outstanding print and broadcast journalism that contributes to the public’s understanding of justice, the legal system and legal issues.

An important and valued member of the editorial team at waterford-news.ie and Waterford News & Star, Shannon was nominated for her article 'Man found not guilty by reason of insanity for explosion that rocked Waterford city', which was published in the newspaper on December 31, 2024.
