An Irish-owned construction firm with its headquarters in New York City, recently awarded $5,000 scholarships to six exceptional students at South East Technological University (SETU).
The scholarships were awarded by JT Magen in recognition of the students' academic achievements, dedication, and potential within the construction industry. The company plans to continue offering the scholarships annually due to the success of the program and the exceptional quality of candidates. The scholarships were presented to students specialising in construction management, quantity surveying, engineering, and architecture.
"We are proud to contribute to the education of such outstanding students at SETU, as their skills and enthusiasm reflect the quality of talent that will drive the construction industry forward," said Pete Moran, spokesperson for JT Magen.
"Our company was founded by an Irishman, and giving back to the community is close to our hearts. We look forward to continuing this program, not only to support these students but to inspire future generations as well."
By expanding its support for SETU students, JT Magen hopes to bridge educational and practical experience, preparing graduates to excel in both the Irish and international construction markets. Students interested in the construction industry are encouraged to apply for next year’s scholarship program which will continue to emphasise academic achievement, leadership potential, and a passion for construction.
JT Magen was founded by Maurice Regan, an Irish native, and is an internationally respected construction company headquartered. Known for delivering high-profile projects across the USA, the company takes pride in its Irish roots and continues to support construction education and innovation both locally and internationally.
The spokesperson said the company aims to support the next generation of construction talent and bolster career opportunities for students in the Munster region by fostering industry connections and hands-on experience through the scholarship program. Each recipient demonstrated a strong commitment to the construction industry, making them ideal candidates to represent Ireland’s future in the global construction landscape.
