Resolution comes from Glenville dispute

Residents and local councillors staged a protest outside Glenville Estate, to get sensor light reinstalled.
In response to a number of protests by Glenville and Powerscourt Lawn residents, the local authority has decided to reinstall traffic sensor lights in the area. The sensor light at Glenville, which activated as cars exited the estate onto the Dunmore Road, was initially removed last September after being in operation for over 10 years. A number of Glenville residents met with engineers at Waterford City & County Council to try reinstall the sensor, however no solution was found.
Two protests subsequently took place in the area, with support from a number of local councillors, including Adam Wyse and David Daniels. Speaking at the first protest, Cllr. Daniels said: "What the Council have done here is made the junction more dangerous for the residents. I firmly believe they have to put the sensor back in." Waterford Council will now temporarily reinstall the sensors to make the junction safer, until the planned traffic calming works to the Dunmore road are completed.
