Reports of fallen trees and power lines down as Storm Éowyn wreaks havoc across Waterford

Waterford City and County Council are receiving reports of fallen trees and debris in several parts of the city and county following Storm Éowyn last night. 

These hazards may pose a risk on roads and around power lines.

The council said on its website that crews are not able to work on issues until the red warning has passed.

So far, the confirmed hazards are as follows:

Trees down and road closed at R671, Clashmore Road on Aglish side 

Trees down at Burgery, Dungarvan

Trees down at R685, 3km outside Tramore, near the grotto

Trees down at R671, near Ballymacarbry School

ESB Pole down on Patrick Street, Tramore

Trees down on the Woodstown Road at Rossduff

Debris at St Otteran’s Terrace, Tramore 

Tree fallen on power lines at Glencairn, Lismore 

Trees down at Maypark Lane 

Trees down on the N72, Dungarvan to Cappoquin at the Pike Service Station 

Trees down on the N25 at Youghal Bridge

Waterford City and County Council also advise the public that while the red weather warning ended at 10am, the county is still under an orange warning until 12pm and a yellow warning from midday to 4pm.
