Waterford Courthouse.
A 36-year-old man is due to go on trial accused of murdering a former Waterford Crystal worker and trade union official over one year ago.
David Norris of Assumption Terrace, Rosbercon, New Ross, Co Wexford, is charged with the murder of Pat Fitzgerald.
Mr Fitzgerald was discovered with injuries at a property in St Catherine's Grange housing estate in Waterford city on the afternoon of Friday, August 1, 2025.

The father-of-three, who was aged in his 70s, was taken to University Hospital Waterford and pronounced dead two days later.
Mr Fitzgerald was a retired glassblower and had also been heavily involved with local trade unions.
On Monday, October 5, the Central Criminal Court in Waterford was told that a pathologist's report was still awaited in the case.
Tom Giles Kelly BL for the Defence told the court that the trial would be in a position to get underway following the completion of this report, which was expected within a few days.
Mr Justice Kerida Naidoo adjourned the case until next Tuesday, October 13.
However, the court heard that the trial may not open until later in the month given that there are two other trials listed ahead of it.
Niall Storan BL for the Prosecution told the court that the trial is likely to last two weeks.
It will take place before a jury at Waterford Courthouse.
