Investigations into the collision are ongoing, a Garda spokesperson confirmed to the Waterford News & Star.

Gardai and emergency services attended the scene of a two vehicle collision in Ferrybank, on the edge of Waterford city, this morning, Tuesday, October 6.

The incident occurred on the R711 New Ross Road, Ferrybank, Waterford around 10:40am, according to a Garda spokesperson, near the town's church.

Both the driver, a man aged in his 80s, and the passenger of one of the vehicles, a woman aged in her 70s, were taken to University Hospital Waterford to be treated for non-life threatening injuries after the collision.

The road was subsequently blocked off by Gardaí, until shortly after 12pm.
