Margaret Morrissey was kind, caring and had a fantastic spirit

The late Margaret Morrissey.
There was great sadness felt around Waterford City following the passing on June 19, of Margaret Morrissey, Apt 31, St Joseph's, Manor Hill, Waterford.
A daughter of the late Michael and Agnes, Margaret passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born on April 14, 1959, Margaret was predeceased by her parents Michael and Agnes, sister Alice and brother Tommy.
A devoted mother, family meant everything to Margaret and one of her favourite activities was going to walks on the Greenway with her daughter and grandchildren.
She liked watching TV and among her favourite shows were the likes of 'Starsky & Hutch', 'Kojak' and 'The High Chapparal'.
Margaret also liked staying connected on social media, having a cigarette after dinner and a trip to the slot machines to 'smack the buttons', as she herself used to say.
She also loved music and had a particular fondness for songs and acts from the 1980s.
Among her favourites were the likes of Billy Ocean, the Nolan Sisters and Celine Dion.
Such was her interest and love of music that she was always up for a dance when her favourite tunes were played.
Margaret liked the outdoors and she really enjoyed picking blackberries on Tory Hill.
She was also fond of getting an ice-cream every now and then from her local garage.
While she loved her music and watching TV, Margaret's biggest love in life was her family.
She liked spending time with her grandchildren, Kayden and Adaela and took a keen interest in all of her families lives.
Margaret was a collector of watches, jackets and handbags and such was her interest in the former that she bought a new watch almost every second week.
A devoted mother and friend, Margaret was the type of person who wasn't afraid to speak her mind but was always there to listen and to help others in any way she could when the need arose.
Her daughter, Victoria pointed out that such was her love for her family that at times Margaret would do without, herself, if it meant her Victoria got to do something.
"My mam was a fantastic, spirited person who loved the little things in life," said Victoria.
It was simple pleasures that brought her contentment such as a bag of Haribo while in bed watching Netflix.
Margaret was kind, caring and full of life.
She was also generous and good natured and the type of person it was a joy to be around.
Her passing has left a huge void in the lives of her family and friends.
