Local man pleads guilty to Smoke City robbery
The robbery took place at Smoke City, John Street, Waterford City.
A man has pleaded guilty to the robbery of a vape shop in Waterford City earlier this year.
Wayne Kenny (38), with a last address given as Closegate, Waterford, appeared in Waterford Circuit Court earlier this week before Judge Eugene O'Kelly.
He was charged with robbery under Section 14 of the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act, 2001.
Mr Kenny entered the Smoke City premises in the early hours of April 1, 2024, threatened a member of staff, took cash from the till, and left.
A nolle prosequi was entered for a charge of the production of an article. He remains in custody and will be sentenced in early November.
