It's TIME for Ireland's first-ever clock auction in Waterford

RJ Keighery Antiques Ireland are running the country's first ever clock auction, with more than 300 clocks on sale as well as 80 rare original enamel signs.

Ireland's first-ever specialised clock auction is being held by RJ Keighery Antiques in Waterford, on Monday, January 13.

"This is Ireland’s first-ever clock auction," said a spokesperson for RJ Keighery Antiques, explaining that the auction is taking place as a sale of "one of the largest private collections ever seen in this country".

80 rare original enamel signs will be included in the auction.

"This is the contents of one private single-story estate, which is a lifetime collection of nearly 300 clocks," they said.

"This particular estate had amassed this collection over 60 years and travelled throughout Ireland and the UK. There is a mix of clocks from wall clocks, mantle clocks, grandfather clocks, barometers, and clock parts, amongst others."

RJ Keighery Antiques noted that in the auction, there will be a number of "interesting Irish-made clocks", along with a number of clocks from "prominent British makers" that will be sold as part of the auction.

"One particular clock of Waterford interest is by well-known maker Thomas Cahill."
