Condolences expressed to ‘beautiful soul’ Gillian Curran
A private funeral service will be held for the late Gillian Curran.
Funeral details have been announced for Gillian Curran, from Tramore, Co. Waterford, who passed away in tragic circumstances on Saturday, January 25, 2025.
Gillian is predeceased by her beloved father Michael, and deeply mourned by her loving and much-loved mother Mary.
Gillian will be sadly missed by her sisters Clodagh, Jenny, Tara, Erika and brother Michael and their families. She will be fondly remembered by her godfather Fr. Roddy Curran, her uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family and friends.
In accordance with the wishes of Gillian’s family, a private funeral service will be held.
Gillian's family has said that donations can be made in memory of Gillian to Women's Aidtarget="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> or The Brill Family Resource Centre, Waterford.

Condolences have been expressed from across Waterford city, Tramore and beyond following Gillian’s death.
A message posted by the BRILL Family Resource Centre in Ballybeg, where Gillian worked, reads: "All of the staff and management in BRILL Family Resource Centre would like to pass on our deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Gillian Curran, who died over the weekend.
"Gillian worked in our Key Project and was a valued member of staff. She will be greatly missed by all."
Via RIP.ie, one mourner wrote: “I remember Gillian as a beautiful, bright, interesting and funny young woman with a kind smile for all.”
“Gillian brightened every life she came in contact with,” another said.
She was remembered in another message as "kind, thoughtful, funny, beautiful and intelligent. A beautiful soul with an infectious laugh. You couldn’t but love her."
Expressing the anguish that people feel, one person said it was an "unimaginably painful time", adding: "It’s become a cliche but sometimes there really are 'no words'. Gillian and all of you deserved so much better."
Others expressed how beloved Gillian was in Tramore, with one person saying: “ You were such a beautiful person and so highly thought of in Tramore. We are all lost for words."
Another said: “Tramore has lost one of a kind.”
One condolence read: “She was always so kind, friendly, sensitive and funny. She was taken away from this life too soon, much too soon.”
