The bathing prohibition in place at the beach in Ardmore has now been lifted.
Testing in early June found elevated levels of bacteria in the water.
In response, Waterford City and County Council issued a bathing prohibition to prevent illness.
Councillors at the Dungarvan-Lismore District Council were told this week that further testing shows the issue is now resolved.
Senior Executive Officer Dawn Wallace said the council are investigating the cause and has contacted Uisce Éireann.
Councillor Tom Cronin asked if the issue was related to the closed public toilets.
Senior Engineer Gabriel Hynes said the two are unrelated.
A notice was also issued for the stream in Dunmore East. That remains in place.
The council have confirmed to the Waterford News and Star that retesting is due to take place on June 16.
The advisory says: “Paddling or playing in the stream is prohibited until further notice to avoid the risk of illness.”
