The body of a 58-year-old man was found following an incident on Tuesday December 31st.

Following the post-mortem examination Gardaí launched a murder investigation

The man, aged 58 years, died following an incident in New Ross on Tuesday.

The Office of the State Pathologist and local coroner have both been notified and a post-mortem examination is due to take place this morning

Mohammad Shaker Al Tamimi was charged at Gorey district court last night with the killing of eight-year-old Malika Al Kattib, who died after an assault at her home in New Ross on Sunday night.

Malika Noor Al Katib, eight, died after she suffered stab wounds in the early hours of Monday morning.

Gardaí continue to investigate all of the circumstances surrounding the death of Malika who was a student at New Ross Educate Together Primary School.
