"The national anthem is taught in many schools, but only because teachers choose to include it. It is not guaranteed. It is not protected"

The meeting looked at the demographic crisis facing rural parishes, housing pressures driving young people out of their communities and the critical role of the GAA

Deputy McGuinness is one of two Sinn Féin TDs in County Waterford

"Young people who want to stay and raise families in their own communities are being pushed out and it’s tearing at the fabric of rural life"

Deputy McGuinness also unveiled details of his constituency outreach clinics that take place on rotation across County Waterford

"Their message is consistent: they need practical support, not more reports or empty promises"

McGuinness said the “public will not tolerate a situation where dangerous criminals are repeatedly released on bail to commit further crimes”.
