Your Fitness: Committing to your goals!

Making time for yourself to carry out the tasks needed for you to reach your goals is very important when it comes to your overall health and wellbeing.
Something I’ve been discussing a lot with clients lately. “I’m hoping to get x sessions done this week”.
If I am met with this response or similar from a client, I will question where this client’s priorities are.
This is not to say that we will not have certain commitments in our life that may trump our health and fitness endeavours from time to time, but it should not be something we are saying weekly.
If our goals mean something to us, I find setting some standards in place will often yield better results.
The clients who tend to make the most progress tend to share very similar approaches when it comes to their fitness. They set some non-negotiables as their bare minimum.
At the start of each week they make a decision. They make a decision on what is within their control throughout the week. They make a decision that they will get sessions done and they allocate time across the week where they can get them done, which works around their other commitments.
We need to start looking at where we have time in the week that we can set aside time for us to follow through with our goals. This may seem selfish initially if you are typically someone who bends over backwards to work around the schedule of others.
However, if you want to be a better person for yourself and those around you - this is likely an area you need to work on.
Making time for yourself to carry out the tasks needed for you to reach your goals is very important when it comes to your overall health and wellbeing.
Break down your schedule at the start of the week and find 2-3 hours where you are going to prioritise you.
Show up for yourself, the same way you would show up for your boss in work or your own business. The discipline this builds over time will likely have a lot of positive crossover to your performance in every other area in life.
A healthy body is a responsive body. A healthy body helps you to better show up for yourself and those around you.
If you are still reading this, ask yourself. Are you prioritising time for yourself each week that allows you to set some key tasks for the week that you will get done as the bare minimum.
Start small, and commit to these tasks. Leave little to chance and watch these small tasks add up over time - accumulating to shape you into the individual you always wanted to be.
