Local Notes: Swimming, cruise disappointment and athletics wins

Sunday, May 11 at 9:30am. Please note that Fr P.J.Breen PP is away on a pilgrimage.
There will be no midweek Masses in the Parish. Mass in Carbally Church every Sunday at 11am.
On Saturday, May 10, at 5:15am, There will be a Darkness Into Light Swim in aid of Pieta House.
Sunrise is expected at 5:40 am.
We will have a bucket for collection and tea /coffee.
Hope to see a huge turnout.
Last week, the expected visit of a Cruise Ship did not materialise, and it appears the ship was in drydock.
The next visit of a ship to Dunmore will be on Friday, May 16, the Celebrity Silhouette, arriving at 7am and leaving at 7pm, with 2852 passengers.
On Sunday next, May 11, at 8am in Dunmore East Library.
Join us at Dunmore East Library in the Fisherman's Hall Dunmore as we gather with our Library Bealtaine Choir to greet the Dawn with a song and a cuppa.
All are welcome to this free event, celebrating 30 years of Bealtaine.

Open Water Swim is back for its fifth year on Saturday, June 21 at 1pm, supported by EirGrid and is sold out.
On Sunday week, at the County Track and Field Championships at the RSC, Siofra Moloney Kilmacomb, competing with Ferrybank AC, won the high jump u14 and was second in the 80 metres and also in the 1500 metres and Siri O'Flynn Dunmore also with Ferrybank, won the 1500 metres.
At the East Munster Girls Secondary Schools Track and Field meeting last Wednesday in Templemore, Siri O'Flynn Dunmore was first in the minor 800 metres, and Siofra Moloney Kilmacomb was second in the long jump and third in the high jump minor also both competing for St Angela's Ursuline School.
