Sympathies

Sincere Sympathy is extended to the Nuala Hanrahan and family on the death of Michael Hanrahan, Clonea Power, who passed away on Friday, July 19.

His remains were removed from Walsh's Funeral Home, Carrick-on-Suir to St Coan and Brogan Church, Clonea Power. Burial took place following Requiem Mass in the adjoining cemetery. Michael worked at Irish Leathers until its closure in the 1980s. He also was employed on the Curraghmore Estate for many years. Michaels passing will be sorely missed by his family and friends and by all who knew and worked with him. May he rest in peace.

10th Portlaw Scouts

A big welcome to the French guides who camped in Clodagh house last night and are hiking to Waterford tomorrow; a lovely bunch of girls.

Portlaw Utd

Some of our schoolboy teams are currently recruiting new players to join our squads for the upcoming season. We are currently recruiting for players born in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015, for the upcoming seasons. We are also looking for coaches for our U11 team (children born in 2014 and 2015).

If you know someone who is interested in joining contact Adam on 083 1435087 or Jonnie on 0872316285. Congratulations to Robbie Allen picking up his top goalscorer award at the Waterford Junior League awards night on Saturday night. Robbie scored 16 league goals for our 2nd division team last season. Well deserved Robbie.

Portlaw Camogie

Well done to the U15 squad on their recent win, especially to our own Tills who was part of the victorious team. Congratulations to all involved.

It was also a lovely evening recently at the pitch watching Carrickshock play Moyle Rovers in the Eileen Coffey tournament final. Carrickshock came out as worthy victors. Thanks to the Coffey family for their support of the tournament and to Paudie for the lovely words and presenting the cup to Margaret, the captain of the winning team. Thank you to all who came to cheer on the teams and congratulations to Carrickshock.
