Tramore Tidy Towns were out and about and noticed a few residents from Cluain Larach out weeding and clearing away bramble from between trees so well done to those involved and the local Council lads came to collect the bags. Also, well done to the residents of Tramore Heights who were also out recently, busy weeding and cutting grass with the Tramore Tidy Towns hoping to join them soon. Sunday morning saw the team clean up the area between Brownstown Head and the Metal Man, despite the inclement weather. The Tidy Towns group would love to see more volunteers join in, and remember, it can be for just half an hour, one hour, or whatever time you have spare, there is absolutely no commitment to time, and you do what you can do, even looking after a small area around where you live. Just get in touch and we will be there to support your area.

Recently the Eco Group held a Pollinator Workshop with Dr Una Fitzpatrick from the National Biodiversity Data Centre Ireland. The group had a 'Crash course in Bumblebee Identification', and the members went and found some. Did you know there are 21 different species to be found in Ireland. As part of Heritage Week, on Saturday last Dr Tasneem Khan, a marine biologist, provided training in recognition and monitoring of species, particularly those indicative of a healthy water body.
