Yvonne Tierney and her partner Brad Bower returned home from Canada this week to visit family and have their daughter Harper Baptised. They were also joined by Patricia Wilson (Nanny Pat). The Christening took place in the Sacred Heart Church on Monday, August 5.

It was a wonderful occasion for all involved, family, friends and especially the two Godparents, Jason Tierney and Nicola Tierney, brother and sister-in-law to Yvonne. Harper’s Great-Grandmother Delia (96) and Gran-Aunt Mary, also travelled from Kilkenny to join in the celebration. Yvonne is a daughter of Hugh Tierney, and the late Ann Tierney, Viewmount. She is also a granddaughter of the late Peg Tebay.
A big thank you to Fr Chestnut on such a beautiful service. He noted how well behaved and charming Harper was, especially as she wanted more 'water' on her head at the baptismal font. Many thanks to the Cove and Tom Drohan who provided fantastic food for all who came to celebrate with Yvonne and Brad. It was a day to remember and we wish Yvonne, Brad, Harper and Pat an enjoyable rest of their vacation and safe journey back to Canada.
