A public access defibrillator (AED) in Tramore has been rendered out of service following an act of vandalism recently. The life-saving device, previously located at the old post office opposite the Grand Hotel, has gone missing after being forcibly removed. According to reports, the defibrillator may have been discarded somewhere between the Vee Cafe and the rear of The Haven Pharmacy on Lower Branch Road. Members of the public are being asked to keep an eye out and, if found, to return the device to Tramore Garda Station as soon as possible. Thankfully, Gardaí have identified and apprehended the individual believed to be responsible for the damage. In the meantime, locals in need of a defibrillator in that area can access the nearest alternative unit, which is now located outside the Order of Malta Ireland – Ambulance Corps – Tramore Unit, on Pond Road. The community is urged to remain vigilant and assist in ensuring this vital piece of emergency equipment is recovered promptly.

A heartfelt presentation was made recently to Adjutant Eoin Hewison, marking his departure as Officer in Charge of the Tramore Order of Malta Unit, after several successful years of dedicated leadership. The ceremony, held in the presence of unit members, was a show of appreciation for his tireless commitment and the significant contribution he has made during his tenure. While he steps down from his leadership role, members were pleased to confirm that Adjutant Hewison will remain an active part of the Tramore Unit going forward - decision warmly welcomed by all. The evening served as both a celebration of past achievements and a show of confidence in the unit’s continued strength, with Eoin Hewison remaining an integral part of its future.
