Lots of events are taking place in the Dunmore East area
Mass times in Killea Church for Holy Week are: Wednesday, April 16 - 7.30 pm; Good Friday, April 18 - Stations of the Cross at 7.30pm; Easter Sunday, April 20 - 9.30am. In Carbally Church on Good Friday Celebration of the Lord's Passion will be 7pm and Easter Sunday, Mass of the Lord's Resurrection, will be celebrated at 11.30am.
The lifeboat shop has reopened for the season ahead so drop in and check out our fantastic range of RNLI gifts, clothing and souvenirs, if you are out and about in Dunmore East. It's current opening hours are Fridays, from 12noon to 4pm, Saturdays from 11am to 4pm and on Sundays from 2pm to 4pm.
Dunmore East will have its Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19, from 2pm to 4pm in Dunmore East Park. There will be lots of side shows also such as a bake sale, face painting and lots of other fun activities. There will also be prizes galore on offer and all proceeds will go towards Dunmore East Venture Sea Scouts.
Pilates at Carbally Community Centre takes place every Wednesday. Clodagh, from Ritual Pilates, brings her expertise to the centre. Whether you're looking to tone up or boost your energy these classes are for you.
Gaultier U15's won the Division 1 Championship Final in Carriganore early last week the score being Gaultier 5-10 v An Gaeltacht 2-8. Well done to the players and management on a super, terrific display. A Gaelic Football Academy for boys born after 2019 will begin on April 24, at 6.30pm. on the astro-turf training pitch in Ballymabin. Call Robin on 087 1277132 for more details.
At the RSC on Tuesday last, at the Waterford Secondary Schools Track and Field Championships, two athletes from the Dunmore East area won their events with both competing for St Angela's. Siofra Moloney, Kilmacomb, won the minor long jump and was second in the high jump and Siri O'Flynn, from Dunmore East, won the minor 800 metres and was second in the 200 metres. Meanwhile, Niamh Cusack, from Ballymacaw, again with St Angela's, was second in the senior 1500 metres.
