What's On in Waterford: Live music, art exhibitions and more

John Cullinan exhibition, August 17, Birdie’s Café Fenor

Lots of new work from John Cullinan will be on display in Birdie’s Café/Gallery, Fenor.

The exhibition opens on Sunday August 17, at 11am, and runs officially from August 19, to mid-September.

John considers himself as much a colourist as a realist. Working in both charcoal and oils, his bold brush strokes aim to create ridges to catch the light while simultaneously capturing the gesture, be it a landscape or nude.

Gallery opens from 10am to 4pm from Thursday to Sunday inclusive.

Stories Sketched In Glass, August 14 to August 16, Garter Lane Arts Centre

Waterford Youth Arts in association with Garter Lane Arts Centre present 'Stories Sketched in Glass' by Veronica Coburn.

A young girl sits in a cathedral. Back at her house a sun-drenched summer sesh rages on.

In another part of the city a figure in a bay window stands and watches the interplay of Robins and Starlings on the lawn. And over in Ferrybank a young man stands at his bedroom window watching a trawler make its lazy way up the river.
