The Vicki Graham Stage School Showcase, February 3

The Vicki Graham Stage School kids are back again to present to you their winter end of term showcase, in an entertaining day full of song and dance.

The junior class will be embarking on an adventure under the sea on their adventures with Belle and Ariel, while the intermediates are going all pink with their Barbie the Panto written by our very talented teacher Paula Weldon.

Then the senior classes are just Fabulous with an abridged version of the very popular musical 'Sister Act'.

Again this term every class has their own show and they cannot wait to sing, dance, act and above all entertain all their family and friends.

Artists conversation, February 5, Waterford Gallery of Art 

During this event, Connolly will discuss her research and creation of exhibition, 'GROUND (two-unfold)', where Connolly set herself the task of making 100 paintings on canvas  exploring the history of abstract painting in Ireland through the lens of Mainie Jellett’s historical painting Decoration (1923)

She will be joined by fellow painter and academic Ramon Kassam for a conversation about the evolution of the project and the connections between Jellett’s work and contemporary abstract practices.

The Far Away Sun, February 21, Garter Lane 

Garter Lane are hosting a rehearsed reading of Katie Honan’s new play, ‘The Far Away Sun’, which explores the delicate dance between man and monster in oneself.

Katie will share the script performed by two actors, with a post-reading discussion about the interdisciplinary nature of the text.

The play has thrown up interesting questions about staging, so she will then go on to advance the work’s dramaturgical focus on sound in Dublin Theatre festival‘s

Cry Before Dawn Live, April 18, Bank Lane 

Cry Before Dawn first formed in Wexford in 1982, and fuse guitar driven rock with traditional Irish pipes and whistles to create a uniquely powerful and dynamic sound.

The band has two Double Platinum selling albums to their name as well as prestigious national awards. These include 'Best Newcomer' in 1987 and 'Best Irish Group', in 1989, reflecting the huge popularity of the band across the country.
