What's on in Waterford: Christmas swims, live music, theatre and more

A Christmas Day swim for Waterford Marine Search and Rescue will take place in Tramore.
On November 17, 2021, Brian Kinsella went missing. Over the months that followed, Waterford Marine Search and Rescue organised, planned and executed an incredible effort to bring Brian home.
They have been an incredible support and the family and friends of Brian will never be able to repay the tireless dedication of Waterford Marine Search and Rescue.
Family and friends are organising a Christmas morning swim to bring together those who knew Brian and raise as much money as possible for Waterford Marine SAR.
The group will be at the Skate Park in Tramore at 9:45am on Christmas morning.

David Murphy’s sound spans Americana and folk to ambient, experimental music and soundtracks.
He is best known for his work with artists such as The Lost Brothers, John Blek, Ordnance Survey, Arborist, The Delines, Willy Vlautin, M. Ward and Jolie Holland, amongst others.
Murphy’s live shows present ancient Irish harp tunes and historic airs by O’Carolan, O’Riada and others, voiced by the mysterious and emotive sound of the pedal steel guitar.
With a band of musicians from across contemporary, modern-classical and traditional/folk worlds, the pedal steel ably takes its place within an ensemble of cello, violin, piano, harp and lush electronic textures and synths.
Recent appearances include Kilkenny Arts Festival, Electric Picnic, Another Love Story, Galway and Doolin Folk Festivals and a live TG4 performance at Fleadh Cheoil.
