King Kong Company announce anticipated hometown gig in Waterford

King Kong Company on the Main Stage at All Together Now 2024.
Waterford’s own King Kong Company have revealed they will be performing a hometown gig before hitting the festival field this Summer.
The festival warm up show will be taking place at Bank Lane this May.
When it comes to Irish festival favourites, few bands have the pedigree and presence of King Kong Company.
The Waterford-born collective has made a habit of turning festival fields into full-blown parties.
Their 2019 Electric Picnic set was so memorable that The Irish Times ranked it among the top 10 moments in the festival’s history, a fitting accolade for a band that has played Electric Picnic almost every year since 2014.
The local group excelled on the main stage at All Together Now last year, with a performance that shook the ground of Curraghmore Estate.
The group’s performances are a vibrant, pulsating blend of Mardi Gras revelry and high-energy rowdiness, a combination that has been incredibly well received by festival crowds across the country for over a decade.
Their unique combination of riotous intensity is built from horns intertwined with hard bass, playful costumes and raw vocals.

A highlight of their recent performances has been Bobby Fingers, who has become a regular collaborator with the group and regularly makes festival appearances alongside them, complementing the band with his offering of wild lyrical storytelling and crowd banter, ensuring that each show is unpredictable and unique.
The Limerick native, in the past year, has also grabbed considerable attention for his intriguing and bizarre Youtube series that chronicles his artistic process in diorama construction.
King Kong Company's festival circuit success doesn't stop at home either, as they have graced stages at Glastonbury and Boomtown, and most recently brought their renowned live show to Beautiful Days 2024, in the UK.
Their cinematic blend of electronic, dub, and rock has found its way onto the big screen, with tracks featured in films 'Deadly Cuts' and 'Let the Wrong One In'.
In 2017, they were invited to perform for President Michael D. Higgins at Áras an Uachtaráin, and in 2018, they received the prestigious Bram Stoker Medal for Entertainment from the Philosophical Society at Trinity College Dublin.
The group will be joined on the night in Bank Lane by Peter Vogelaar's new live 2-man show
No stranger to the Waterford music scene, Peter has remixed a wide range of artists from Wyvern Lingo to Josh Ritter. As he is tipping a million streams on Spotify, his tracks and remixes of his Sophomore album 'Inner Creatures' have gotten support from the likes of Sasha, Kölsch, Eelke Kleijn and Black Coffee.
