Famous Irish jazz singer all set for intimate Waterford appearance
Sharon Clancy

A headliner from the famous Jazz at Johnstown and a singer at the forefront of the Irish jazz scene, will be stopping off in Waterford later this month.

Acclaimed former West End performer and singer-songwriter, Sharon Clancy, will be performing at Bank Lane on Friday, May 24.

She will be accompanied by a trio led by one of the great piano accompanists in jazz, Waterford’s own Killian Browne.

Clancy is a recent recipient of a Culture Ireland grant to perform abroad. A versatile performer, she can sing straight-ahead jazz with aplomb and switch styles in the blink of an eye.

A frequent headliner over the years at Jazz at Johnstown and Aberjazz in Wales, she has both a smouldering and sensuous vocal style mixed with the mastery of a seasoned stage performer.

The Jazz at Bank Lane gig will feature four individually exceptional performers including Dave Fleming on bass and Conor Murray on drums.

The gig will present discerning local music fans with a rare opportunity to experience both elegant and rhythmically intense modern jazz. Tickets from banklane.ie
