Details announced for this year's West Waterford Drama Festival
Details of the 43rd West Waterford Drama Festival have been unveiled, which runs from March 7 to March 15, at St. Michael's Hall, Ballyduff.
The festival kicks off with a production of 'The Seafarer', by Enniscorthy Theatre Company, on March 7. A darkly comic Christmas Eve tale where old friends, lost souls, and the devil himself gather for a high-stakes game of cards.
Gorey Little Theatre will present 'Rathmines Road' on March 8, where a gripping and emotional confrontation forces one woman to reckon with her past.
'Thy Will Be Done', a heartfelt and funny tale of family, faith, and the unexpected twists of inheritance, will be presented by Tinahely Variety Group on Sunday, March 9, and then on March 18, 'The Wasp', presented by Kilmeen Drama Group, will introduce audiences to a psychological thriller where a seemingly innocent reunion spirals into a deadly game of manipulation and revenge.
A big-hearted, black-humoured, tragi-comic triumph, 'Juno and the Paycock', takes place on March 11, presented by Kilmuckridge Drama Group.
'The Weir', from Brideview Drama Group, presents a haunting and lyrical evening of ghostly tales and hidden sorrows in a rural Irish pub, taking place on March 12, followed by The 'Blackwater Lightship' on March 13, a deeply moving story of family, forgiveness, and facing the past, delivered by Ballyduff Drama Group.
On March 14, 'Lend Me a Tenor' takes place. A fast-paced, laugh-out-loud farce where mistaken identities and backstage chaos take centre stage, presented by Ballycogley Players.
Closing out the festival on March 15, is 'Art', a sharp and witty comedy about friendship, ego, and the true cost of modern art, by Dundalk Theatre Workshop.
