Concert celebrating women taking place in Waterford

The Ora Quartet, who will perform at Waterford Music's concert on 5 March with a concert celebrating women.
Waterford Music is collaborating with the National Strong Quartet Foundation to bring the Ora String Quartet to Waterford on Wednesday, March 5.
This all-female strong quartet will perform a concert that showcases female composers past and present.
The programme features four women composers: 20th century composers Elizabeth Maconchy and Florence Price, and contemporary composers Ailbhe McDonagh and Caroline Shaw.
The Ora Quartet consists of four accomplished musicians who all have flourishing careers with orchestras and with smaller musical ensembles.
The group is made up of Siun Milne and Molly O'Shea (violin,) Ali Comerford (viola) and Yseult Cooper-Stockdale (cello.)
The concert, which takes place just three days before International Women's Day, is being staged in association with the Finding A Voice Music Festival in Waterford, a festival that raises the profile of female composers and musicians.
The concert will take place at Garter Lane Arts Centre and will start at 7.30pm.
Tickets are available from garterlane.ie and at the door on the night, priced at €20, €15 for seniors/unwaged and €5 for students.
