Waterford Music has announced its line-up of artists for this year's Autumn Concert Season which will feature top Irish classical musicians and local jazz favourites.

The schedule of concerts will begin with a jazz concert from the Phill Collins Quartet, on Thursday, September 11. The lineup will also feature top Irish classical musicians and rising international stars.

A spokesperson for Waterford Music told Waterford News & Star that the first concert will have a local flavour, featuring original compositions from Mr Collins who is a very well-known jazz musician.

He will be joined by Tomas Gall, Karl Rooney and Jin Ju Jang, who make up the Phill Collins Quartet.

That event will be followed by two concerts featuring two well-known Irish classical musicians. Clarinettist John Finucane will perform on Thursday, September 25, accompanied by David Adams and then renowned pianist Finghin Collins will perform on Friday, October 17.

Waterford Music is collaborating with the National String Quartet Foundation to bring the Marmen Quartet to Waterford on Wednesday, November 5. The final concert, in association with Music Network, will feature leading harpist Emmanuel Ceysson, who will perform with up-and-coming Irish soprano Sarah Shine on Wednesday, November 26.

Waterford Music is returning to its traditional venue of the Dr Mary Strangman Large Room for four out of its five concerts. The final concert, featuring Ceysson and Shine, will take place in the Edmund Rice Heritage Centre and all concerts will begin at 7.30pm.

Tickets for the concerts are available from waterford-music.org and at the venue on the night. They are priced at €20 for full price tickets, €15 for seniors/unwaged and €5 for students. Season tickets are also available from the website, priced at €75 for five concerts.
